7 Days Tour to Ngamba Island, Lake Mburo National Park, Nshenyi cultural village, Source of the River Nile and Mabira forest.

Enjoy some of Uganda’s fascinating cultural heritage with the locals as you traverse through open savannah plains consisting mainly of acacia woodland mashes and open valleys. Although the heavyweights such as elephant are missing, the great mix of wetland and woodland habitats makes for a wide range of mammals and birds and Mburo's tranquil atmosphere and soothing views are a great relief. It's the one National park where you can do a walking safari, horse safari, boat safari as well as a game drive.

Detailed Itinerary

Day One. Arrival

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet & greet with an Aba Global Tours & Travel representative and thereafter transfer to your hotel in Entebbe.

Overnight at Protea Hotel Entebbe/Lake Victoria Hotel.

 Day Two. Ngamba Island & UWEC

Take a boat cruise out on Lake Victoria to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary and have a chance to interact with chimpanzees. You will also be treated to sights of monitor lizards, birds, and photographic opportunities.

Upon arrival at the sanctuary, you will be directed to our visitor’s center where you will be given an introduction to the project, its history, our residents and their plight. You will receive an educational orientation by a chimpanzee caregiver and view a feeding of the chimpanzees from the visitors’ raised platform area along the edge of the sanctuary fence. After lunch you will proceed to UWEC for an educational tour.

Overnight at Protea Hotel Entebbe/Lake Victoria Hotel.

Day Three. To Lake Mburo National Park.
After breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park you will go on a boat ride on the lake and enjoy the rich bird life and the many hippos that are cooling off.                                                                              

Early morning you will start the day with a nature walk guided by a ranger. Lake Mburo is the only national park where you can experience a safari on foot. You will also have either an evening game drive or horse riding safari.

Overnight at Mihingo Lodge/Rwakobo Rock/Lake Mburo Safari Lodge

 Day Four. Nshenyi cultural experience.

You will participate in different cultural activities like: the milking of long horned Ankole cows, watch milk being processed and presented, Go for an uphill hike to visit farmers that harvest honey from the caves and rocks of the surrounding hills, Learn about traditional homestead crop Cultivation and food processing, Visit the Batwa community and see their pottery works, Visit local homesteads, markets and schools, interact with the community. In the evening experience the traditional music and dance of South-western Uganda.

Overnight at Nshenyi Cultural Village.

 Days Five/Six. Ssese Island                                                                                                
After breakfast, you will drive to masaka, branch off to Bukakata to take a ferry to Bugala Island. Have lunch at the Island and relax at the beach.

Indulge in a nature walk or village walk on the island or optionally go on a canoeing trip or quad bike. Enjoy sunset warm sunsets on Lake Victoria.
